BELIFT LAB said Heeseung’s departure followed discussions about the future direction of both the artist and the team, and that his individual musical vision had become distinct enough for the parties to pursue separate paths. From a performance perspective, the difficult part is that Heeseung’s former contribution cannot be reduced to one vacant “position”. He was widely regarded as a dependable singer and all-round performer, meaning his absence affects several systems simultaneously:
- existing songs require vocal lines and harmonies to be reassigned;
- seven-person formations must be converted into six-person geometry;
- transitions and centre placements have to be rebalanced;
- members must cover more material while preserving breath control during demanding choreography;

Some early fan discussion after the change focused heavily on live vocals and on which member received particular lines. The departure additionally changed the meaning of seniority. Heeseung had been the oldest member, so Jay, born in 2002, became the eldest of the active line-up, while Ni-Ki remained the youngest.
